Description
With the demands of today's
rigorous competition, it's imperative to support your equine athlete from inception
through the growing stages. The Developmental Formulas are designed to build and
maintain that strong equine foundation for broodmares, foals and stallions. Your
broodmares and recipient mares need to be on the Developmental Formula when
breeding commences. Balancing ration formulations in estrus, growth and
maturation is crucial in the prevention of increasingly occurring developmental
orthopedic diseases. There is significant research to support nutrition holding the
greatest promise for reducing the severity and instance of developmental
orthopedic diseases due to it being the only factor under direct control.
Developmental Formulas are devised to properly balance the sensitive
calcium:phosphorus ratio. If an imbalance occurs, it will impair proper growth, which
will lead to skeletal malformations, poor growth and muscle disorders.

Supplementing Instructions
Introduce Core Balance® to your horse's diet by supplementing one-fourth(1/4) scoop and increasing by that amount each day until you are at the recommended dosage of two (2) generous scoops (80 g) of Core Balance® per horse per day. We suggest combining Core Balance® with rice bran or your choice of grain ration. Do not supplement more than a 1/2 pound (227 g) of Core Balance® per horse per day. Store in a dry, cool place and close lid after each use.

One of the big issues as an equine practitioner is developmental orthopaedic disease in foals. It is multifactorial. The first thing is genetics, then biomechanical stress or traumatic injury, and then there is nutrition. As a veterinarian, nutrition in the broodmare is the one thing I can control.
